Perched on a hill overlooking Lake Qarun, Tunis Village was once a quiet farming community. Today, it is a vibrant hub of pottery, thanks to a unique collaboration between Swiss potter Evelyne Porret and the local children she taught decades ago.
The artisans here work with local Nile clay, throwing pots on kick-wheels and firing them in traditional kilns. Their designs are inspired by the flora and fauna of the oasis—palm fronds, birds, and the ripples of the lake.
By supporting these potters, Remhe Studios helps sustain a craft that has transformed an entire village, providing livelihoods while preserving a deep connection to the earth.
